No Sleep Smoothie Bowl |

This is a very exciting day for me....tinged with a lil' fear and anticipation.
I just launched my YouTube channel and Sleep Series, which was inspired by my battle with insomnia.
Yep, insomnia. I have suffered from insomnia on and off in the last ten years, and I can't adequately describe the mental, physical and emotional toll that it has taken on me. We're talking months straight of 3 and 4 hour nights, often with the hangover of an OTC sleep med.
It has been especially difficult, because I also have to contend with the guilt of being healthy living representative...who can't sleep. I've tried it all—Eastern and Western therapies, natural and definitely not so natural. Sometimes things work, sometimes the same treatment fails me only days later.
At some point, I realized I needed to turn my attention to managing my constant state of exhaustion, instead of trying to fix my insomnia.
So I did! And now I'm using my channel as a venue to share all of the tips, tricks and recipes that I rely on to get me through periods when I'm not sleeping enough. My channel is not about fixing sleep. Your guess is as good as mine as to what can permanently fix my insomnia. Moreover, this channel is not ever never for one second even going to tell you how important sleep is.
People who don't get enough sleep are the LAST group that need to be told its important. They KNOW it is. They have the sluggishness, crummy moods, cravings, weight gain and hormonal wackiness to prove it.
I know I'm not alone in experiencing unremitting sleep deprivation. Whether you're an insomniac like me, a mama with a newborn baby or a night-shift worker, the information I'll be sharing on my YouTube channel can help you increase your energy, improve your mood and make life a lot more manageable...and delicious!
