INGREDIENTS
  • 2 cups filtered water
  • 1 chai tea bag
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/8th teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8th teaspoon turmeric
  • small pinch black pepper
  • small pinch sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon elderberry syrup (link for brand in post)
DIRECTIONS
  1. Heat water in a small sauce pot till simmering. Add chai tea bag and simmer 1 minute. Add lemon juice, spices and ginger and simmer another minute. Remove from heat and add elderberry syrup. Stir to combine and serve.
  2. OPTIONAL: Add 1-2 teaspoons raw honey for extra sweetness, and/or a splash or coconut or almond milk for creaminess
