TOTAL TIME :0mins10mins
  • 1 1/4 cups raw pecans
  • 1 1/2 cups medjool dates pitted
  • 1/4 cup raw rolled oats gluten-free
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon maple extract I used Frontier brand
  1. Place all ingredients in a food processor and blend until ingredients are the texture of sand and you can pinch a small amount together and it will stick. Empty your dough into a bowl.
  2. Keeping a bowl of lukewarm water by your side, roll dough into 1 ½ inch balls. Place on a plate or in a Tupperware container, cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before enjoying.

As soon as I saw this recipe I wanted to try them! But…it’s freezing and icy in Toronto and I didn’t want to go to the grocery store, so I substituted walnuts for the pecans and added some organic unsweetened fine coconut instead of the cinnamon. They are absolutely divine! This recipe was so simple and easy to follow. I will be making these again and again. Next time I’ll try them as you suggested. Thanks for sharing!

    • Hey Lily!!! I am so glad you were able to make this recipe, despite the elements that kept you from having all the ingredients! I think your version sounds delicious. Thanks for giving it a try!

Hi Lily!!! I’m so sorry I missed your comment a while ago! Thank you so much for making these. They are really one of my favorite. Love the idea of the coconut! xx

You’re so sweet (like maple pecan balls!). Don’t worry about it! Your blog is great, I found it on Max’s facebook a while back and I love reading it and sharing it with my Toronto friends. Take care! xx

What is a serving size for these? Thanks!

    • Hey babe!!! It totally depends on if you’re looking for a quick boost of energy or a post-meal treat, or if you’re a little hungrier. I almost always eat 2 at a time!

    Will these freeze well? Thanks!

    • Laura Lea Goldberg

Yes! Keep them tightly sealed and they can stay frozen up to 3 months!
