|Faux-cha Banana Smoothie|
First things first...
Enormous thanks each of you for supporting my business by reading these posts and/or trying my recipes. Particular thanks to those who have taken the time to check out my YouTube Channel and my first two Sleep Series videos. I've felt very vulnerable discussing a topic that has been the source of a lot of pain in my life, and I've received nothing but support and empathy!
The more I bring the topic of insomnia into the light, the more I realize how others have battled with horrible sleep patterns and the accompanying thoughts & feelings: what is wrong with me? How am I going to face the day? I'm so jealous of my slumbering partner...even resentful!
Insomnia is so much more than the sum of its parts, and I hope that sharing my experience and the tips I've learned along the way can help others manage their own exhaustion and frustration. Even if you've never dealt specifically with insomnia, most have experienced periods of too little sleep!
That said, today's recipe is in response to my third Sleep Series Video:
To Coffee or Not to Coffee?
I know that coffee is a sensitive subject, but I thought I'd go for it while we're breaking barriers! So, is your morning Joe a NO? The answer really depends on your answer to a few different questions, and to hear those, please check out my video below!
In the meantime, give this recipe for my Faux-Cha Banana Smoothie a whirl. I absolutely adore the flavor of coffee, especially in blended drinks and desserts, but coffee doesn't agree with me personally. Instead, I am smitten with Dandy Blend, a coffee substitute made from beet, chicory and dandelion root. It has a similar taste and smell to coffee, but it's totally caffeine free. The rest of the ingredients in the Faux-Cha Smoothie create a ridiculously creamy, decadent and nourishing result, and you'll be addicted in the best possible way! Cocoa powder has a small amount of caffeine, so you get a little boost without the jitters. Almond butter and coconut milk provide protein and fiber, so this baby will keep you full for a few hours!
I hope you give this a try, and please click below to check out my video, To Coffee or Not to Coffee?!
